Lance Ziebell is a seasoned employment law and business litigation attorney, serving as a Shareholder at Lavelle Law. He zealously represents businesses, employers, and executives in complex disputes across state and federal courts, as well as before key administrative agencies, including the U.S. Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Illinois Department of Human Rights, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and others. Mr. Ziebell handles breach of contract claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, non-compete and restrictive covenant enforcement, wage and hour issues, discrimination and harassment defense, wrongful termination, union-related matters, and a wide range of employer-employee conflicts. Sarah Reusche

Sarah Reusché is a senior associate attorney at Lavelle Law who practices employment law and business litigation. She is passionate about helping clients enforce effective and fair workplace policies. Sarah has experience litigating restrictive covenants in employment agreements, resolving wage payment disputes, and handling discrimination claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and their state equivalents.

Bankruptcy Cannot Discharge Taxpayer’s Questionable Tax Liabilities

Certain income taxes can be discharged in bankruptcy if they meet a four-part test, the last test being a subjective test. On January 20, 2026, Judge Bentley of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the SDNY issued a 46-page judgment determining that a chapter 7 debtor did not meet the fourth test.
