As an Immigration Attorney, I have been fortunate to represent both individuals and businesses, in a variety of settings and legal matters. I consider it an honor and a blessing to be given the opportunity to help people from all over the world. Whether it is navigating the immigration system and assisting people with technical legal matters, or just helping people understand American culture and values, I believe I come away from each interaction with a client as a better human being, always having learnt a great deal from their sacrifices, commitments to their respective families and communities, and shared experiences.
Being of South Asian origin and having deep roots with South Asian communities in Chicagoland and beyond, I interact on a weekly basis with South Asian individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Oftentimes the elderly, international students, abused family members, and disadvantaged members of immigrant communities need assistance in interfacing with government agencies, obtaining benefits to which they are entitled, or with understanding and learning about their legal rights in general. I take a personal interest, on a pro bono basis, in empowering these groups of people, no matter where or when the need arises.
